HortiFresh in collaboration with input dealers organised an inputs fair at Atomic to link peri urban farmer groups from Dzorwulu, Roman Ridge, Kawukudi, Ashaiman, Korle Bu, Ablekuma, Atomic and Trassaco to reliable input suppliers. This activity sought to provide farmers with direct access to input dealers to mitigate the inconsistency in the supply of quality inputs.
Participating were Meridian Seeds Ltd, dealers in hybrid & OPV vegetables seeds & seedlings; Rejuvinate Gaia Ltd dealers in Greenfert organic fertilizers; The Candel Co. Ltd dealers in Pulmic Knapsack and Tackel herbicides; Miqdadi Ltd. dealers in seeds & Agro-chemicals; Jubaili Agrotec Ltd dealers in all agro inputs; Yara Ghana dealers in fertilizers; Zerotwo Enterprise dealers in hybrid & OPV vegetable seeds; TrotroTractor providers of farm mechanisation services; Holland Greentech Ghana dealers in hybrid seeds, soil analysis & advisory services; and PEG Ghana providers of solar irrigation equipment.
Access to reliable and consistent supply of input forms a greater limiting factor to productivity and growth of the horticulture sector. Particularly, the inconsistent supply has resolved in the lack to adopt high-yielding and disease-resistant varieties, crop protection and affordable irrigation equipment for all year production. The companies presented varied products and services to accord farmers with multiple alternate choices.
