HortiFresh in collaboration with the Netherlands African Business Council embarked on a fruit trade mission to Cote d’Ivoire to explore business opportunities in the country’s fruit sector.
The trade delegates from both Dutch and Ghanaian companies were received by Her Excellency, The Netherlands Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, Madam Yvette Daoud. In her welcome address, she mentioned how delighted she was to receive the delegation and entreated them to explore business opportunities and collaborate with Ivorian businesses to create more value and wealth for the sector.
The mission included AfriFruta, Agriterra, Quarcoo Initiatives, Kaddy Ventures, Celtic Cooling, Interplast and Trading Organic.
AfriFruta, a leading company that operates a state of the art drying facility in Mozambique which produces high quality dried mango, pineapple, papaya, coconut. Agritterra, providers of expert advice and training to cooperatives and farmer organisations in emerging economies to strengthen farmer ownership and stimulate economic growth. Quarcoo Initiatives (Quin Organics) providers of 100% organic and works with farmer groups to produce for exports; fresh fruits, fresh pressed juices, dried fruits, dried citrus peels, herbal teas and tea infusions, fresh herbs and vegetables. Kaddy Ventures, an agriculture company which seeks to project the enhancement and adherence of good agricultural practices.
Celtic Cooling, a worldwide supplier and installation company for cold rooms, freezers and refrigeration equipment was also present to explore the fruit value chain. Interplast, a leading provider of high density Polyethylene pipes (HDPE) HDPE corrugated pipes and PPR Pipes for hot and cold water application.
Trading Organic a company that strives to be a global front runner in organic food ingredients for fruits, nuts and oils to speciality products such as cocoa, coffee and superfoods were also there to explore opportunities in Cote d’Ivoire.
Pitching sessions and field visits were organised to help the companies to appreciate the enormous opportunities available in the Ivorian fruit sector.
