May 15, 2020HortiFresh continues to support activities under the cluster development model. Areas of intervention include Akomadan, Afrancho, Tuobordom, and Wenchi for tomatoes, Techiman, Nkoransa, Kintampo, Sunyani, and Wenchi for Mango, Keta- Denu for onion and Atomic, Trassaco for Prei-Urban.
In the different clusters, attention is being given to good agricultural practices for quality produce. With months of extensive practices in the various clusters, farmers are beginning to see improvement on their farms.
Most significantly from the mango cluster is the effort to reduce the incident and occurrence of the bacteria black spot (BBS) disease which affects growing fruits.
Reports from HortiFresh’s Cluster assistant within the mango demonstration farms currently show numerous fruits per tree due to the vigorous protocols being implemented. The farm has low disease and insect infestation.
This year’s season promises to bring quality mangoes to the market. Interested people willing to buy mango this season should contact HortiFresh. Below are pictures from mango, tomato, peri-urban and onion clusters.
