The month of Ramadan is dedicated for purification in both physical and spiritual sense for all Muslims around the world. This season presents the greatest opportunity for the consumption of fruits around the world especially in Ivory Coast.
Statistics gathered from some retailers and producers of certain fruits indicated a 20% increase in the purchase of fruits like oranges, melons, dates and mangoes around the season which has significantly increased the volume of fruit sales in Ivory Coast.
Speaking to one of the producers of fruit in Bonoua a 25 kilometers town from Abidjan, Mr. Toure Assane indicated that, the situation favours producers as “we make appreciable amount of profit from the sale of our produce and aids transaction of fruit businesses domestically”
He added that, if people will adopt to regularly increasing their intake of fruits, the sector will be more attractive as compared to what it is now.
